Really Large Petals and Cogs

January 17, 2022

In this one-day class we are going BIG using the 14″ block.

By combining the no-pin curves technique with FPP (Foundation Paper Piecing) using freezer paper we are looking at transforming the 14″ Drunkard’s Path block into Daisies, Cogs and more. You will learn how to insert smaller Twice-cut curves, Improv curves and classic Drunkard’s Path curves into your FPP pattern to alter the look of your block.

You will learn how to sew curves as big as 14″ and as small as 1 3/4″.

We will cover all the stages of Foundation Paper Piecing using Freezer Paper- how to prep the paper, what stitch length to use, how best to put the block together and more. You do not need to have any previous FPP or curved piecing experience.

Level:

Intermediate and advanced. This is a techniques class and we will not be following a pattern. The session is particularly suited for those who want learn to develop their own designs.

The paper version (PDF) of the templates used are included in the class.
